Vincent Ricord embodies the perfect balance between traditional French perfumery heritage and contemporary innovation. Born into a family of perfumers in Grasse---the historic heart of fragrance creation---he discovered his calling at the age of 13 during a school internship that sparked his fascination with raw materials and composition. This early experience shaped his understanding that perfumery is ultimately about translating emotion into scent.

He began his professional journey at Expressions Parfumées in Grasse, where he spent over 15 years mastering every aspect of fragrance creation, from fine fragrance to cosmetics and home scents. This extensive experience gave him a deep understanding of how different product categories require distinct compositional approaches. He later expanded his expertise at Drom Fragrances and CPL Aromas before taking on his current role as Senior Perfumer at TechnicoFlor, where he continues to push creative boundaries.

Ricord's artistic philosophy is rooted in the belief that "perfume is, above all, an emotion," and that successful fragrance creation requires both technical mastery and emotional intelligence. He draws inspiration from music, painting, and travel, often comparing his work to that of a film composer crafting the perfect soundtrack for a scene. In addition to his creative work, he also contributes to education as a professor at the École Supérieure du Parfum in Paris.

Ricord's portfolio reflects remarkable versatility across both luxury and niche brands, with notable creations such as Town & Country and XXI: Art Deco -- Blonde Amber for Clive Christian, as well as Lunatique for Liquides Imaginaires. His work demonstrates a refined ability to balance contrasting elements while maintaining emotional depth and wearability.

A key aspect of his creative process is what he describes as "provoking accidents"---intentionally introducing unexpected elements into a composition to avoid predictability and enhance emotional impact. This approach is evident in Lunatique, where he skillfully blends fresh neroli and spicy notes with deep leather and oud, creating a complex fragrance that evolves beautifully over time. The composition maintains a delicate balance between brightness and mystery.

His fragrances often reflect personal connections to ingredients such as orange blossom and lavender from his childhood, alongside more exotic materials like saffron and oud that mirror his global influences. This interplay between familiarity and exploration gives his creations a unique depth and character.

Ricord's work is widely appreciated for its complexity, emotional resonance, and refined performance. His fragrances offer strong longevity and presence without overwhelming the wearer. Through his combination of artistic vision and technical precision, Vincent Ricord has established himself as a respected voice in contemporary niche perfumery.
