Yves Cassar’s passion for fragrance began during his childhood on Algeria’s Mediterranean coast. Surrounded by the rich scents of citrus fruits, jasmine, and tuberose in his grandmother’s garden, he developed an early sensitivity to aroma. These formative experiences have shaped his entire career. He later pursued degrees in chemistry and biology at the University of Valrose in Nice, establishing a strong scientific foundation for his work.

Cassar entered the fragrance industry in Grasse, where he focused on analyzing the quality and purity of natural oils and aroma chemicals. This deep expertise in raw materials remains a defining aspect of his approach. After working at Florasynth and Haarmann & Reimer, he joined International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) in 1998, where he rose to the position of Vice President and Senior Perfumer.

Over a career spanning more than three decades, Cassar has collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Calvin Klein, Estée Lauder, and Abercrombie & Fitch. Among his notable creations are Tom Ford for Men and Pure White Linen by Estée Lauder.

His collaboration with Zoologist on Dodo Jackfruit Edition highlights his ability to bridge mainstream luxury and niche artistry. The fragrance features a lush tropical composition with fruity notes, bergamot, and pink pepper, reflecting his affinity for warm, Mediterranean-inspired scents.

Cassar’s work seamlessly blends scientific precision with an intuitive understanding of fragrance as an emotional experience. His creations demonstrate how perfume can go beyond formulation to become a powerful sensory and evocative art form.
