Micotti’s creative philosophy centers on originality and emotional storytelling through scent. He believes that fragrance preferences reflect intimate emotional states and contribute to personal and cultural identity. This philosophy is evident in his work for both YS-UZAC and Pernoire, the Swiss niche brand he joined as house perfumer in 2020.
One of his standout creations, Masar, perfectly illustrates his approach. Named after the Arabic word for “path,” this extrait de parfum symbolizes transformation and self-discovery. It opens with sharp yuzu and resinous labdanum, evolving into a warm heart of amber, honey, and tobacco. The base reveals a refined blend of leather, sandalwood, and animalic notes, forming a complex oriental composition that embodies confidence and evolution.
Micotti’s innovation also includes proposing new olfactory families, such as the “Mineral” category introduced with YS-UZAC’s Silex. He continuously explores rare ingredients and unconventional combinations, often working with a high proportion of natural materials.
His creative process is both analytical and artistic—beginning with an understanding of audience and intention, followed by extensive formulation and testing. This balanced methodology has resulted in over 40 fragrances across his projects, each telling a unique story while maintaining his signature blend of emotional depth and technical excellence.
