Paul Guerlain carries one of the most prestigious names in perfumery while forging his own creative path. As part of the legendary Guerlain family, he blends a rich heritage with a modern and personal approach to fragrance creation.

His passion for scent began early in life. A formative trip to Mayotte with his grandfather, where he encountered vanilla and ylang-ylang plantations, sparked his fascination with raw materials and their transformative potential. This experience became the foundation of his future career.

Although he briefly considered studying law, his true calling led him to his grandfather’s laboratory as a teenager. There, he began experimenting with fragrances and developed an intuitive understanding of composition. This hands-on, self-driven learning remains a key aspect of his creative process.

He later refined his skills at ISIPCA before joining IFF in New York and Paris. Under the mentorship of perfumer Anne Flipo, he strengthened both his technical expertise and artistic vision. Today, as a Junior Perfumer at IFF, he creates fragrances for major international brands such as Christian Louboutin, Paco Rabanne, and Valentino.

Paul Guerlain’s work focuses on the dialogue between ingredients. He enjoys exploring contrasts, observing how different notes interact, challenge, and enhance one another. This approach results in modern, dynamic compositions with a distinctive identity.

His work with Maison Crivelli, particularly Neroli Nasimba, illustrates this philosophy by blending bright neroli with soft leather accords, creating a fragrance that feels both refined and unconventional.

His portfolio also includes mainstream creations like Jimmy Choo Man Aqua and Phantom Intense for Paco Rabanne, as well as Olympéa Parfum, showcasing his versatility across different fragrance families.
