Born and raised in Grasse, the heart of the perfume world, Nathalie Gracia-Cetto found her path into perfumery through an unexpected route. After earning a PhD in pharmacology, she chose to follow her passion for fragrance and enrolled at Givaudan’s prestigious perfumery school. Graduating at the age of 29, she began a career that would span more than two decades.

Her early olfactory memories have played a defining role in shaping her artistic vision. Childhood experiences in both Provence and Egypt exposed her to a rich palette of scents—from Egyptian jasmine and orange blossom to sun-warmed pine trees and the salty air of the sea. These sensory impressions continue to influence her work today, particularly her affinity for white florals and radiant, sunlit compositions.

As a Senior Perfumer at Givaudan in Paris, she has collaborated with an impressive range of brands, from luxury houses such as Christian Dior, Tom Ford, and Chloé to niche creators like Essential Parfums and Fragrance Du Bois. Her philosophy is centered around the idea of “partipris”—creating expressive fragrances that tell stories while maintaining clarity, elegance, and pleasure for the wearer. She sees perfumers as both artists and craftsmen, carefully shaping raw materials to evoke emotion and beauty.

Gracia-Cetto’s portfolio reflects remarkable versatility across fragrance families and market segments. Among her most celebrated creations are Burberry Brit, Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, and Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum.
