Nadège Le Garlantezec represents a new generation of French perfumers who combine scientific precision with deep emotional expression. Her journey began with a degree in chemistry, a deliberate choice that would lead her into the world of perfumery. During her studies, she developed synesthesia, enabling her to mentally visualize scents—an ability that became a defining element of her creative process.

After graduating, she continued her training at ISIPCA in Versailles, one of the most prestigious perfumery schools in France. Her talent was recognized early when she won the “Prix International du Jeune Parfumeur-Créateur” in 2006, an award honoring innovation and emotional depth in fragrance creation. She later joined Givaudan, where she trained under Antoine Maisondieu and was promoted to Junior Perfumer in 2010.

At the heart of her work lies emotion. Le Garlantezec sees fragrance as a medium capable of transporting people into dreamlike universes. She believes her creations reveal more about her than words ever could. Her signature style is defined by concise, impactful formulas—rarely exceeding 60 ingredients—allowing each composition to remain clear and expressive. A pivotal moment in her career was her first project: creating a scented candle. This experience deepened her passion and established a sense of wonder she continues to carry throughout her work.

Today, Nadège Le Garlantezec is a Senior Perfumer at Givaudan in Paris, creating fragrances for prestigious brands such as Lancôme, Prada, Narciso Rodriguez, and Memo Paris. Among her most recognized creations are Lancôme Idôle, Prada Paradoxe, and Narciso Rodriguez Narciso Rouge.

Her work with Memo Paris highlights her talent for crafting evocative, travel-inspired scents. Flåm captures the magic of the northern lights, opening with bright bergamot and bitter orange before evolving into a creamy blend of jasmine and vanilla. Inverness reflects the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands, combining iris butter, mate absolute, sandalwood, and guaiac wood into a rich, woody composition.

Her work has received significant industry recognition, including Prada Paradoxe being awarded “Fragrance of the Year” at the 2023 Fragrance Foundation Awards. Collaborations with fellow Givaudan perfumers, such as Shyamala Maisondieu and Antoine Maisondieu, have resulted in multiple award-winning fragrances, further establishing her as a leading voice in contemporary perfumery.
