Mylène Alran’s passion for fragrance was shaped by the natural beauty of southern France. Growing up near Albi, surrounded by forests and her family’s rose gardens, she developed an early sensitivity to natural scents. These formative experiences later became the foundation of her creative vision.

After studying chemistry, she began her career in 2010 at Robertet in Grasse. Under the guidance of master perfumer Jacques Flori, she quickly mastered the art of formulation. She later moved to Paris, where she joined Michel Almairac’s team as a junior perfumer. During this time, she contributed to prestigious projects such as Les Roses de Chloé, which played a key role in shaping her career.

Alran’s creative approach is driven by instinct and intuition. She believes that ingredients should tell their own story—especially natural materials like mimosa, jasmine sambac, and patchouli. Her inspiration extends beyond perfumery, drawing from fashion, poetry, and floral design. She aims to create fragrances that wrap around the wearer like fabric on skin.

Her travels to places like Morocco and Cuba have deeply influenced her olfactory palette, adding exotic dimensions to her nature-inspired compositions. This global perspective, combined with her French heritage, creates a unique balance between familiarity and discovery.

Throughout her career, Alran has collaborated with renowned brands such as Bottega Veneta, Chloé, Lalique, and Memo Paris. One notable creation is Abu Dhabi, a fragrance that blends rich date accords with multiple vetiver oils, capturing a striking balance between warmth and freshness.

A defining element of her work is the reinterpretation of classic ingredients. She explores the more powerful, unexpected facets of traditionally feminine notes like rose and ambrette, challenging conventional boundaries in perfumery.

Through collaborations with brands like Olfactive Studio and Bon Parfumeur, she has demonstrated remarkable versatility across different fragrance families. Her compositions often feature woody, earthy elements that reflect her southern French roots. She is particularly skilled at balancing contrasts—combining sweetness with smokiness, or delicate florals with strong woods.

Currently working at Givaudan, Alran continues to push creative boundaries. She believes that great perfumery lies in the balance between deep classical knowledge and fearless innovation. Each of her creations reflects her dedication to natural ingredients and her ability to transform simple materials into complex, emotionally resonant fragrances.
