Fredrik Dalman represents a new generation of perfumers who integrate diverse cultural influences into their work. Growing up in Uppsala, Sweden, his early fascination with scent was shaped by everyday experiences—from culinary aromas to industrial environments.

His career path was anything but linear. He first studied journalism and trained as a sommelier before discovering his passion for perfumery. He gained initial experience working at Harrods in London, then pursued formal training at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery, where he deepened both his technical knowledge and his understanding of how scent is perceived across cultures.

A pivotal moment in his development was his mentorship under Bertrand Duchaufour, who introduced him to a more intuitive and artistic approach to fragrance creation. This experience helped shape his signature style and led him to a role at Accords et Parfums in Cabris, where he built important industry connections.

Following the passing of Mona di Orio, Dalman was chosen to continue the olfactory legacy of her house. Rather than imitating her work, he honors her values while introducing his own Nordic-inspired aesthetic, creating fragrances that feel both respectful and forward-thinking.

Dalman’s creative philosophy centers on translating sensory impressions—such as light, texture, and temperature—into scent. His background as a sommelier influences his deep appreciation for raw materials and their balance within a composition.

For Maison Mona di Orio, he has created fragrances such as Myrrh Casati, Bohea Bohème, Dõjima, and Santal Nabataea. The latter, in particular, reflects his talent for storytelling, drawing inspiration from historical landscapes and natural light.

His collaboration with Thomas De Monaco resulted in Raw Gold, a fragrance that blends leather, warmth, and nostalgic depth, capturing a cinematic spirit rooted in past decades.

In 2023, Dalman co-founded Pantomime Parfum, exploring a new olfactory language aimed at expressing emotions without words. This project highlights his commitment to innovation and his belief in pushing the boundaries of perfumery while maintaining exceptional craftsmanship and quality.
