Dominique Moellhausen represents a new generation of perfumers who seamlessly blend tradition with innovation. Born in Milan in 1992 and raised in a multicultural environment, her German-Dutch-Paraguayan heritage, along with her international experiences, shapes her unique creative perspective on fragrance.

Her path into perfumery was not initially planned. Originally drawn to music and international studies, she pursued a degree in Business with Languages in London. It was only through visits to her sister at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery that she discovered her passion for scent. This pivotal experience led her to enroll at the prestigious institute herself, where she completed her training in 2016.

Today, she serves as R&D Vice Director at the family company Moellhausen S.p.A., where she has access to an extensive palette of raw materials. Her rapid rise in the industry has been recognized with the “Perfumer of the Year” award at the Beautyworld Middle East Awards in both 2020 and 2023.

For Dominique, perfumery is the most abstract form of art. She sees herself as a creative traveler, translating stories, emotions, and cultural influences into fragrance. Her creations are designed to be personal and expressive, evoking different memories and feelings in each wearer.

Her work spans a wide range of collaborations, from Attar Collection to Rammstein, demonstrating her ability to navigate diverse markets and cultural preferences. Her signature style is characterized by soft, harmonious compositions with a smooth and balanced structure.

This is especially evident in Areej, a refined powdery-floral fragrance featuring notes of peony, magnolia, and talc, embodying elegance and delicacy.

With Capella, she showcases another dimension of her artistry: a fresh, green composition blending bergamot, tea leaves, and jasmine with vetiver and warm spices. The result is a fragrance that conveys vitality while maintaining depth and sophistication.

Dominique draws inspiration from travel, nature, music, and visual beauty. She often begins with a concept or narrative, translating it into scent through an intellectual and conceptual approach. Her multicultural background allows her to understand and incorporate diverse tastes, making her particularly adept at creating fragrances for international audiences.
