Céline Perdriel is part of a new generation of French perfumers who combine classical expertise with a contemporary outlook. Raised in the southwest of France, between Toulouse and Agen, she grew up in the Garonne valley, surrounded by orchards, fields, and blooming landscapes. These early sensory impressions—especially the warm, comforting aromas from her grandfather’s bakery—continue to influence her work, particularly the scent of tortillon, a pastry infused with orange blossom, lemon, and vanilla.

Her fascination with fragrance began early, sparked at the age of eight when her grandmother gifted her a collection of aromatic vials. A formative encounter with master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena in Grasse further inspired her to pursue perfumery as a career. After studying chemistry and graduating from ISIPCA, she gained experience at Synarome before joining Givaudan in 2006. There, she worked on projects for L’Oréal’s luxury brands and contributed to well-known fragrances such as Montblanc Legend.

Today, as a Senior Perfumer at Cosmo International Fragrances, Perdriel leads a creative team in Paris while collaborating internationally with teams in Miami and Barcelona. Her creative philosophy focuses on contrast and refinement, often highlighting individual raw materials and exploring their many facets. She is particularly drawn to projects that allow artistic freedom and bold use of ingredients.

Perdriel’s collaboration with Atelier Materi has brought her widespread recognition. Her fragrance Rose Ardoise reflects her signature style—a modern, mineral interpretation of rose that required years of refinement. By blending Turkish Damascena and Grasse Centifolia roses with sage and ambroxan, she created a composition that feels both contemporary and gender-neutral.

Her fascination with raw materials is evident in works like Cuir Nilam, where patchouli is reimagined through deep, leathery facets inspired by the iconic biker jacket. In Ambre Papier, she explores the duality of Siam benzoin, balancing the warmth of saffron with smooth, vanilla-like notes.

With Cèdre Figalia, she captures the entire fig tree—from sap to fruit—while Burgundy Oud offers a fresh perspective on oud, enhanced by the vibrant acidity of blackcurrant. Across her creations, Perdriel demonstrates a talent for transforming familiar ingredients into unexpected compositions.

With more than two decades of experience across fine fragrance, raw materials, and body care, she has established herself as a versatile and forward-thinking perfumer. Her work bridges tradition and innovation, proving that modern perfumery can honor its heritage while embracing new creative directions.
