Angela Stavrevska’s journey into perfumery began with a background in chemistry and a short career as an analytical chemist. Her lifelong fascination with scent eventually led her to CPL Aromas, where she initially worked in marketing before transitioning into perfumery through internal training. This unique combination of scientific knowledge and marketing expertise continues to shape her distinctive creative approach.

Over more than 16 years at CPL Aromas, Stavrevska has grown from marketing manager to Perfumer and Creative Director. Her experience working closely with niche fragrance brands and developing communication strategies gives her a rare, holistic perspective on the fragrance industry.

She sees perfumery as a discipline that merges analytical thinking with artistic intuition. For Stavrevska, scent is deeply connected to other sensory experiences such as taste, music, texture, and visual imagery. This multisensory mindset allows her to create fragrances that are emotionally engaging and narrative-driven. Many of her ideas are rooted in personal memories—from unusual childhood scents like warm electronics to more natural impressions like garden centers.

Her work also reflects a strong interest in innovation. Through CPL Aromas’ proprietary technologies such as Aromafusion, she develops exclusive captive ingredients that enable unique and original fragrance compositions, pushing the boundaries of traditional perfumery.

Stavrevska’s portfolio includes collaborations with prestigious brands such as Clive Christian, The 7 Virtues, Penhaligon’s, and Ted Baker, demonstrating her versatility across different fragrance styles.

One of her most notable creations, 150: Contemporary, highlights her ability to manage complexity with precision. Composed of 203 ingredients, the fragrance opens with vibrant blackberry, transitions into refined geranium, and settles into a warm cedarwood base enriched with subtle whisky nuances.

This composition illustrates her skill in bridging tradition and modernity. With a high perfume concentration of 25%, Contemporary delivers strong projection and longevity while maintaining a harmonious balance between fruity sweetness, floral freshness, and woody depth. The structure reflects her scientific background, while the emotional impact showcases her artistic vision.

Her work for The 7 Virtues—featuring fragrances such as Coconut Sun, Vanilla Woods, and Blackberry Lily—further demonstrates her adaptability across diverse olfactory families. Each creation reflects her belief that fragrance should become part of the wearer’s personal story.

Beyond conventional perfumery, Stavrevska has explored experimental projects, including a collaboration with food historian Tasha Marks to recreate the scent of human breast milk for a Wellcome Collection exhibition. This unconventional work highlights her curiosity and her interest in the broader role of scent in human experience and well-being.
