Alexandra Kosinski’s journey into perfumery began with a childhood dream at just 12 years old. The French perfumer transformed this early passion into expertise through dedicated study, earning a Master’s degree in Chemistry before graduating at the top of her class from ISIPCA in Versailles.

She began her professional career at Quest International, where she built a strong technical foundation. Following the company’s merger with Givaudan, Kosinski spent 15 formative years refining her craft and creating fragrances for leading global brands. This experience gave her a deep understanding of both commercial and niche perfumery.

In 2018, she joined CPL Aromas as Senior Perfumer and later advanced to Director of Perfumery UK. In this role, she collaborates with a wide range of brands while preserving her creative independence. She also composes fragrances for Yú Parfums, further demonstrating her versatility.

Kosinski’s creative philosophy is deeply rooted in nature, which she considers an endless source of inspiration. She often associates fragrances and raw materials with colors, drawing parallels between perfumery and visual art. Influenced by artists such as Klimt and Modigliani, she envisions her compositions as sensory artworks.

Her method of blending ingredients resembles hosting a gathering—each element is carefully chosen for how it interacts and harmonizes with others. This intuitive approach, combined with her technical precision, allows her to create balanced and expressive fragrances that capture the essence of nature.

Kosinski’s work spans renowned houses such as Etat Libre d’Orange, Initio Parfums Privés, Versace, and Parfums de Marly, showcasing her versatility across a wide spectrum of styles.

Her fragrance Cologne for Etat Libre d’Orange highlights her ability to reinterpret tradition. By replacing bergamot with mandarin, rosemary with mint, and introducing a richer base, she reinvents the classic cologne structure while preserving its freshness and elegance.

Her favorite ingredients include orange blossom, musk, vanilla, lavender, peach, jasmine, and amber—materials that subtly define her signature style. She is particularly drawn to vanilla and animalic notes, which bring warmth and sensual depth to her creations.

Her innovative work has earned her multiple FiFi Awards, recognizing her influence within the fragrance industry. Her commitment to working with natural, organic, and vegan ingredients also positions her at the forefront of sustainable perfumery.

Kosinski believes that fragrance has a profound impact on daily life—enhancing confidence and elevating mood. This philosophy drives her to create scents that transport wearers, evoking memories, emotions, and imagined worlds. Her personal favorite, L’Heure Bleue by Guerlain, reflects her admiration for timeless, well-structured compositions with strong emotional presence.
