Yann Vasnier’s journey into perfumery began in the lush gardens of Brittany, where his family’s passion for plants and his brother’s work as a landscape architect nurtured his early fascination with scent. Childhood visits to the Divine perfumery in Saint-Malo, where he discovered niche fragrances from houses like Annick Goutal and Serge Lutens, further shaped his path.
In 1999, he graduated top of his class from ISIPCA in Versailles and went on to train under renowned perfumer Françoise Caron at Quest International in Paris. His move to New York in 2003 marked a turning point, opening doors to greater creative freedom and establishing him on the international stage. Today, he is a Senior Perfumer at Givaudan, creating fragrances for leading brands such as Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Comme des Garçons, and Memo Paris.
Vasnier’s creative philosophy centers on crafting fragrances that combine a clear vision, strong identity, and a subtle connection to classic traditions. His refined and modern approach draws inspiration from nature, art, music, and travel, with a particular affinity for woody, spicy, amber, and incense notes.
