Véronique Nyberg’s journey into perfumery began in the French Alps, where her grandmother, a botanist, introduced her to the captivating world of plants and natural scents. Growing up surrounded by fields of narcissus and iris, she developed an early sensitivity to the emotional power of fragrance—an awareness that would later define her artistic vision.

Her scientific background became a key foundation for her success. After earning a PhD in Organic Chemistry, Nyberg began her career in raw material quality control in Grasse before joining International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) as a chemist. She later trained at the prestigious IFF perfumery school in Grasse and was mentored by renowned perfumer Dominique Ropion. This unique combination of scientific rigor and artistic intuition became her signature strength.

Today, Nyberg serves as Senior Perfumer and Vice President of Fine Fragrance Creation at MANE. She has collaborated with leading global brands such as Paco Rabanne, Lancôme, Mugler, and Jimmy Choo. Her creative philosophy centers on achieving a “perfect fusion of opposites”—balancing emotion with rationality, and intuition with structure. This duality is reflected in her bold use of contrasting elements within her compositions.

Nyberg’s portfolio demonstrates her versatility across both mainstream and niche perfumery. From the commercial success of Paco Rabanne Invictus to the artistic refinement of Altruist for J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin, her work spans a wide spectrum. Her contributions to the contemporary Schwarzlose line highlight her ability to reinterpret classic structures, as seen in 1A-33 with its elegant linden blossom heart, and Leder 6, a striking blend of leather and incense.

She is particularly drawn to white floral notes such as orange blossom and jasmine, which she often contrasts with woody or unexpected elements. In Etrango, for example, she combines Damask rose with smoky cypriol and earthy patchouli, creating a bold, oriental-spicy composition inspired by Berlin’s dark and mysterious energy.

Beyond her creative work, Nyberg plays a significant role in shaping the future of perfumery. She is involved in MANE’s scientific committee and actively contributes to the development of new talent through the MANE School of Perfumery. She also participates in raw material innovation, bridging the gap between research and real-world application.
