Fabrice Pellegrin embodies the spirit of French perfumery. Born in Grasse in 1969, he grew up in a family deeply rooted in the fragrance world—his father was a perfumer, his grandmother harvested jasmine, and his grandfather worked with natural raw materials. This early immersion in the traditions of Grasse shaped his profound understanding of natural ingredients.
He began his professional journey at Robertet in the late 1980s, where he gained hands-on experience in quality control, analytical techniques, and the transformation of raw materials. He later continued his career at Mane before joining Firmenich, where he now holds a dual role as Principal Perfumer in Paris and Director of Natural Product Innovation in Grasse.
Pellegrin’s creative philosophy centers on emotion and generosity. He believes that fragrance should evoke memories, bring joy, and transport the wearer to different places and moments. He draws inspiration from nature, as well as from music, literature, and gastronomy, approaching each creation with spontaneity and a “carpe diem” mindset.
He is especially renowned for his mastery of natural materials such as patchouli, rose, and jasmine. He describes patchouli as deep, mysterious, and intense—qualities that are consistently reflected in his work.
