Charlotte Jullien’s journey into perfumery was shaped early on by her father’s profession as a pastry chef. Growing up surrounded by the art of balancing flavors and textures, she developed a sensitivity to composition that later translated naturally into fragrance creation. This background inspired her to pursue formal training at ISIPCA, where she refined both her technical expertise and artistic vision.

Today based in Amsterdam, after several years in the Netherlands, Jullien works for Keva and previously trained with Takasago. Her international experience plays a key role in her creative identity. Living among canals and tulip fields has directly influenced her work—most notably in her fragrance Flower Water, which captures the essence of her surroundings and transforms them into a sensory narrative.

Jullien views perfumery as a way to evoke dreams and transport the wearer. For her, scent is deeply personal, shaped by memory and emotion. Her creative process revolves around translating intangible ideas—feelings, places, atmospheres—into tangible olfactory compositions.

Collaboration is central to her work. She has partnered with perfumers such as Douglas Morel, Cristian Calabro, and Pierre-Constantin Guéros, contributing to projects for brands like Reinvented, Mémoires D’amour, and Trend Perfumes. These collaborations highlight her adaptability and her ability to move across different creative directions.

Jullien is particularly known for her work with natural ingredients. Her creations for Marie-Stella-Maris’s Eau de Parfum Naturelle collection feature compositions with up to 99% natural content. Rather than seeing this as a limitation, she embraces it as a source of innovation, creating fragrances that are both modern and complex.

Lucid Dream, developed with Cristian Calabro for Reinvented, reflects her imaginative approach. The fragrance opens with saffron, raspberry, and plum, evoking vivid, dreamlike memories. Its heart blends rose and white florals in a fluid, evolving structure, while a warm base of sandalwood, patchouli, and soft oud adds depth and balance.

Her portfolio spans a wide spectrum—from the airy floral Flower Water No.20 to the richer, more enveloping Amber Haze No.15. Across all her creations, she respects each brand’s identity while introducing her own creative signature.

Her early project L’invisible du visible at ISIPCA further illustrates her innovative thinking. By translating visual art into scent for visually impaired individuals, she explored fragrance as a universal language—capable of bridging sensory boundaries and creating new forms of perception.
