Antoine Maisondieu embodies the fusion of traditional perfumery heritage and modern creative vision. Born in Grasse, the historic center of French perfumery, he is part of a distinguished lineage as a third-generation perfumer and the grandson of Nobel Prize-winning philosopher Albert Camus. Despite these strong roots, his path was not predetermined—he initially studied law and art history before discovering his passion for perfumery during an internship at Givaudan.
Maisondieu’s creative philosophy is defined by instinct, imagination, and inspiration. He seeks to craft fragrances built around strong ideas—compositions that are direct, memorable, and emotionally impactful. Rather than striving for conventional perfection, he pursues a unique form of beauty that feels authentic and unexpected. His preferred palette includes luminous citrus notes such as bergamot and lemon, alongside orange blossom, jasmine, woods, vanilla, and musk.
As a Senior Perfumer at Givaudan, Maisondieu has collaborated with leading brands including Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Tom Ford, and Etat Libre d’Orange. His ability to balance artistic expression with commercial appeal has established him as one of the most influential perfumers of his generation.
