Andrea Casotti’s path into perfumery is both unconventional and inspiring. With a degree in nuclear engineering from the prestigious Politecnico di Milano, he initially pursued a scientific career before discovering his true passion in the world of fragrance. His technical background continues to shape his work, allowing him to blend analytical precision with creative freedom—an approach he describes as an “exciting freestyle” fusion of disciplines.

As CEO of CFF (Creative Flavours & Fragrances), one of Italy’s most dynamic fragrance houses, Casotti has established himself as a leading figure in niche perfumery. A key milestone in his career came in 2015 when he co-founded the brand Moresque with Cindy Guillemant. The concept focused on introducing Moorish-inspired aesthetics into European perfumery, translating cultural heritage into contemporary scents through the use of rich, high-quality natural ingredients.

Another defining chapter was the creation of The House of Oud, developed through his collaboration with Jakarta-based oud producer Mohammed Abu Nashi. This partnership enabled Casotti to reinterpret oud—not as an overpowering note, but as a unifying element that enhances and connects other ingredients. Fragrances such as Almond Harmony and Dates Delight exemplify his ability to create layered, expressive compositions that unfold like olfactory stories.

Casotti’s work spans several successful fragrance brands, each reflecting a different aspect of his artistic vision. For Moresque, he created standout compositions such as Contessa, a refined oriental blend combining pink pepper and nutmeg with floral richness and a creamy vanilla base. Tamima highlights a more herbal-woody character with notes of eucalyptus and cashmeran, while Emiro showcases his expertise in harmonizing rose and oud.

Within The House of Oud, Casotti further explores Middle Eastern ingredients with a modern perspective. Golden Powder delivers a warm, enveloping composition built around nutmeg, cinnamon, and Burmese oud, while Grape Pearls reveals his experimental side, combining unexpected notes such as grape, coffee, and oud into a bold yet balanced fragrance. Many of these creations are developed in collaboration with perfumer Cristian Calabrò, reflecting Casotti’s collaborative mindset.
